The coming week at CounterCulture is packed full of performances. On November 16, Budweiser presents Harley Rock Riders pre-party featuring The Chronic Blues Circus and Slain. The Chronic Blues Circus is Bangalore’s foremost blues band known for their original music, powerful vocals and unique arrangements.

On November 17, Indigo Live presents Cry Freedom featuring Skrat and Frank’s Got The Funk. Skrat, a predominantly metal band has played over a 100 gigs and Frank’s Got The Funk is a band popular across different genres, primarily influenced by electronic and progressive rock. On November 23, watch Dub Inc. (France) and Reggae Rajahs. Dub Inc. has been on the forefront of Reggae renewal in France across the last decade. Simmer Down Reggae Roots Session, hosted by the Reggae Rajahs will feature the best in Roots Reggae, Ska, Rocksteady, Dub and early Dancehall.

November 24 has the 100 Pipers India Music Week featuring Avial. The performances begin at 8.30 p.m. at CounterCulture, Whitefield Road.   Avial – a name that every rock fan in India identifies with, even if s/he can’t make out a single word of what’s being sung.

True to their name, Avial (a mixed-vegetable delicacy) blends Malayalam poetry with contemporary alternative rock music With elements of indie rock and folk music underlying an electronic feel. Avial’s music has overcome language barriers not only in India but is also drawing fans across the sub-continent and the globe. It has an increasing fan following, with a revolutionary approach in today’s contemporary music scene in India.
